Scenario 5: Using Parallel Processing

Infrastructure: a library has 2 or more drives so that parallel tape processing can be used.

Other prerequisites: see previous scenarios

Media pool: Select the Protect data for <desired_period> option. Since every drive creates its own media set, tape protection must be enabled to avoid accidental overwriting.

Select “Enable parallel processing for the tape jobs” at the Options step. If the source job uses per-vm backup file, select “Enable Parallel processing of backup chains within a single tape job” as well

Source job: any backup method. The tape job must use 2 or more primary jobs as a source or source job must use per-vm option and have 2 or more VMs
